About the appointment...
An injury assessment & management appointment at ABC Performance Physio is based around a client’s specific injury or problem that may be presenting with.
On an initial assessment, a thorough bio-mechanical examination is carried out to assess where the pain may be rooted and the causes that contribute towards the pain. Throughout the appointment, posture, joint range of motion/quality, muscle length & strength are all assessed to identify any contributing factors towards a person’s pain/problem. Through the assessment design, any abnormalities and/or imbalances across the body can be identified, and a treatment plan can be designed based on the findings of the assessment.
Once an assessment has been completed, the appropriate treatment plan is followed using a wide variety of treatment techniques.
Manual Therapy
Hands-on techniques such as joint mobilisations, soft tissue massage, and stretching are used to reduce pain, ease stiffness, and improve movement.
Exercise Rehabilitation
Tailored strength, flexibility, and balance exercises form the foundation of recovery, helping restore function and prevent future injury.
Sports Massage
Targeted massage techniques help relieve muscle tension, improve circulation, and aid recovery after training, competition, or long periods of activity.
Taping & Strapping
Kinesiology tape and supportive strapping can provide stability, reduce pain, and aid performance during sport or activity.
Myofascial Cupping
Myofascial cupping uses suction cups to gently lift the skin and underlying tissues, improving blood flow and reducing muscle tightness. It can help relieve pain, ease stiffness, and promote recovery after training or injury. Cupping is often used alongside other treatments to enhance flexibility and overall movement.
Injury Prevention Programmes

Post-Surgical Rehabilitation
Structured rehab plans following surgery (such as ACL reconstruction, joint replacement, or shoulder stabilisation) to restore mobility, build strength, and return you safely to your goals.
